I think I got one- ...when you spend hours looking up information on guinea pigs and forget all the friends you promised you'd call. Then, you also have an email inbox with at least four hundred emails in it that you have no idea even exsist.

I admit- I am a piggy slave.

... when your weekend routine includes driving to a feed store 15 miles away, in a completely different town, so you can buy Oxbow products and avoid shopping at Petsmart.

... when you accidentally run out of Oxbow pellets and your pigs are so spoiled that they are insulted that you'd dare even offer them substandard grocey store pellets for one day.

... when the decor of your living room is overwhelmed by the giant cavy pen that must be in the busiest room of your house, regardless of the odor or the profusion kicked of pine shavings (kiln dried, of course!)

... when you hear a series of ear piercing squeals and wheeks every single time anyone in the house opens the refrigerator for any reason.

... when you're happy to see that Spring has sprung and dotted your lawn with dandelions, because they make such great pig treats!

... when you spend hundreds of dollars in vet bills for that *FREE* guinea pig because you can't bear to have anything bad happen to his dear little self.

... when you clean out your boars impacted rear every day. Now that's love!

...when you start eyeballing other people's yards for dandelions and consider knocking on the door to ask if they've treated the lawn.

...when your pigs squeal at the sound of any plastic or paper bag crinkling anywhere in your home. It just might mean food, and if it doesn't, it should.

Hahah, guinea pigs are crazy with the bag crinkling. My newest addition, Jeeves, didn't connect bag crinkling to food when I got him because the fridge was downstairs and he was upstairs, so his previous owner brought food up to him and he never heard the noises to associate with it. Since then, of course, he has learned the sound of my fridge and plastic bags and shrieks if I dare to feed myself and not feed him too. lol. On the bright side, he seems to be teaching Baxter that I really will feed them without cage biting.

I actually included fruit and veggies in the grocery shopping. I usually do not eat them , but I am always wondering what they'll would like this week...

....contract with the local food co-op so you can be on the list when the fresh fruit come in.

....you call in sick to work because your piggy sneezed and you need to take her to the vet.

....you call home every day while you are at college, so you can 'talk' to your piggy.

You know your a cavy slave when.....Your getting married may 10th and you have already made arrangements for your pregnant baby to go with you and stay the whole weekend with you & your hubby because, there's absolutley no way that you would leave her home without 24 hour supervision.
