My wife took Shadow to the vet today and he couldnt see the bugs. So $85 for nothin. He said its not lice or mites or she would have scabs and fur missing. I wasnt impressed. Maybe the lighting in the place was to bright to see them. There like the size of a peice of dandruff but move around. I seen a few on the side of her face last night and so did my wife so im not seeing things. She couldnt find them at the vet either.

So i still dont know what they are.

Ugg, how frustrating! I'd go ahead and treat them myself, if they were my pigs.

Im not sure what to treat her with. We cant get ivermectin up here without a perscription. And I dont really want to inject her with anything.

Well, if it's lice, Advantage works best. Can you get Advantage?

Oh, and I don't inject any of my pigs. I do all my ivermectin topically.

Im pretty sure its fur mites the ones that cause no discomfort .

So where can I get this stuff. I asked the vets office the otherday if i can just buy some they said you need a perscription.

Any good sites I can order it from? Im goin to the pet stores tomorrow to look around I doubt they will have anything.

Yes, I know lots of Canadians who are able to get ivermectin. Do you have any feed/farm stores in your area?

I will have to call a few places tomorrow and see if they have any. I know what kind of place your talking about we used to have a co-op feed store at the edge of town but that closed down years ago.
