Default Trimming pig nails

When I had my previous pigs I always took them in to get a trim. But now that I have moved there isn't anywhere to take my new fellow and his nails are quite sharp and getting long. How do I go about doing this myself? I am so afraid I am going to hurt him.

Thanks! I tried the other day, but he has dark nails and when he yelled at me I was afraid that I was too close to the quick.. could have been, or it could have been that this is going to be a first for him. I just need to take a deep breath and get it over with I suppose, and since he has long quicks just do a tiny bit at a time. That link was great!

Every now and then I clip too close. It does seem like the end of the world, with blood all over, but it doesn't last long (I use cornstarch to stop the bleeding). It does make it harder to clip next time, though!

I actually successfully clipped Whiskey's nails yesterday! I used the hold that that link showed and all went relatively smooth. Of course I just did I tiny bit off the tips so they won't be as sharp. I'll go back in about a week and see if I can do some more. I hope his quicks began to shrink soon.
