One more story of bad piggie owners!

I was at a major county fair yesterday with my kids and there was a petting zoo with all the 4h animals very well kept and very cute. My issue was with the guinea pigs that someone had in bunny cages, this barn was pretty hot and the farm animals all had fans on them and access to food, but the pigs had no hay and no food and very dirty looking water bowls, the were hunched up in the corner two to a cage...and something I never saw on a pig before was the ear tags that looked like staples. I just didn't see the point on having these guys there...you couln't pet them, there was no g pig shows at this fair so why would they be there? I didn't know anything about piggies before I owned them but this really struck me as mean. People need to get a life about how to treat their animals(even the small ones). I just had to say my piece about that.

DId you tell that to the maneger in the petting zoo? Because they have to know that they are doing wrong...

Thats really stupid. I know they have shows for some piggies, but to have them like that is irresponsible. I just want to sit there and take them out and give them to loving homes. But thats just me.

The ear tags are for breeder/show guinea pigs. They were likely 4H projects. What you saw is unfortunately the norm.

Thats soo sad! Those poor guinea pigs! I would have stolen them away in the night. I'm the Guinea Pig Snatcher! :P

Poor piggies! The only interaction they get from people is probably when they put them back in little boxes to the next show. So cruel. They deserve loving homes!

Ughhh. Why should guinea pigs be abused so people can get money?? I HATE that, but it's normal. Unfortunately

Soo sad! We shoul become a HUGE mod and all go to that place and save the animals and put the people behind bars... thats a good idea! Did you call animal crulity cops (whatever their called)? Get them im trouble and then they can't do that to no more animals ever again!

Doesn't ASPCA go to places and arrest people for abuse?
