Default Cats

I know this is a guinea pig site but my mom is talking about getting rid of our cat because she pees on the floor every time we leave. She feels we are leaving her for good because she was at alot of other abusive houses before we adopted her. I don't want her to leave!

Is there any way we can get her to stop? Maybe some kind of spray?

There is a product called Feliway Feliway® Use in Cats - Test Subject Report! that can work to resolve the issues your cat is having.

Has the cat seen a vet? Is this new behavior? She may be sick or have urinary issues.

I agree with Sus. My parents noticed that one of my cats was not going outside as much and shortly after she was laying around doing nothing. when I went back to my parents house, i noticed that the few times she did go outside she would pee in tiny spurts. (it seemed like she just couldnt pee properly) My parents took her to the vet and sure enough it was an urinary infection.

I think you should take her to the vet. The vet can tell you if is only behavioral, and might give you some hints on how to help her overcome that.

Ok. But she has done this for over two years now. She is four and we got her when she was one. Thank you for the link, I will check it out.
