Re: My costumes came! Cute pics!
Hi Summer! I think you are taking really good care of your pigs, please don't take offense to things like that. I had a petstore cage at first also, then I read about the c&c cages and made one. I thought my pigs were happy too, but after the new cage they are super happy and play all of the time.
I know everything has to go through your parents and understand that also. I'm older and don't have to worry about that, but I do have to worry about my husband. I just do lots of extra nice things for him when I wanted to get the pigs and make the cage. Made him a special dinner, did all of the household chores so he didn't have anything to do when he got home from work.
What about doing things like that for your mom to persuade her? Take on some extra chores, clear a spot in your room that is large enough to make a big enough c&c cage, don't bug her about it, just let her know how important it is to you to provide the piggy with the best care.
A good place to find pigs that need homes is craigslist. In my state (michigan) there are a lot of pigs posted on there every day that need homes. And probably will be cheaper than buying one in a petstore also.
I have 10 male pigs now. I have two cages that each have 3 male's in them (they are 2x6 c&c's) and I have 3 cages that each have 2 males, they are 2x5's. It can definitely work, you just have to make sure they have enough room.
When you have more room you can also give them a lot more toys, and hidey beds/houses to cuddle up in.
I hope you don't think i'm talking down to you or judging you, just trying to help out with the mom situation. I remember being a kid and trying to talk my mom into stuff, it can be tough!

Then you are not putting your guinea pig first.

That is it! I don't care how big the cage needs to be, I'm leaving this forum. Foggy can go jump in a pit for all I care. I will handle this by myself thank you.

Ya know, it really bugs me that I used to act like that. I realize now that when you guys say things that may or may not sound offensive to us it's for the good of out piggies. If it hadn't been for this forum, I don't think Edmund would still be alive. When I think back, I realize that when we bought him from the petstore that he was really sick.

Re: My costumes came! Cute pics!
You know what? I know I've taken huge offence to what some of you had said, but I realize that none of it was meant to be harsh. Ever since that stuff happened, I've been reading and reading on several pages of this site, Guinea pig cages and guinealynx. You've all really helped out. My mom and I had to make an agreement, that we would get my 3 piggers into a bigger cage, but it would not be a C&C, although it is big enough to play, EAT and do laps around, for them. But We also made an agreement that when we get home everyday, they will have a loooooong floortime. . I thought that sounded like an okay agreement. What Do you think? PS. Thanks to SUS, Foggy,Voodoo, and Cielo. These are just SOME of the knowledgable people that I'm going to be paying attention to alot from now on.

Re: My costumes came! Cute pics!
Well I for one, find it very offensive. It's one thing to suggest, it's another to tell. I am doing my very best, and if that isn't good enough, then why don't you all just call the cavy police on me. F.Y.I., I am getting much busier with school work, because XX grade is in like a month and i haven't done the summer reading yet, so that might help convincing. So please, stop telling me what to do. I made this thread for the discusion of costumes, and nothing but.

That's not okay. I have yet to see a pet store cage big enough for three guinea pigs.
Are they going to get 10+ hours of floortime a day? Since there are 24 days in a day, it should be proportionate.
