Re: Baby Girl the baby boy!
I have a similar problem, only sadder (kind of). I thought I had two sweet boars, Comet and Michelangelo. Well, Michelangelo died *cry*. Comet's new buddies gave it away. They were with "him" about four days and I noticed an awful lot of mounting and the two baby boys were fighting a bit and Comet kept nipping them. We took Snickerdoodle and Tex out, and gave them back to their previous owner. Well, Comet has started to get... Rounder. Her tummy is super sensitive too. Of course it could be from Michelangelo, but Michelangelo never acted like that. When it was the two of them, it was easy to believe they were both boys. Fortunately Comet is only about 6 months old so she should be fine. Good luck with your piggies.

Re: Baby Girl the baby boy!
So Commet is a prego girl? Thank you! I do hope mine pull through okay.
I have been looking at and reading happy stories and videos of guinea pig births, to keep my mind off of their survival rates. It's been helping alot! I REFUSE to read any sad stories of piggie birth complications, it makes me stressed!

My story had a happy ending but there are so many that don't. There is only so much that you can do so try not to worry too much. Have any of the piggies been to a vet? If not, maybe you could find one in case something goes wrong.

Re: Baby Girl the baby boy!
Yes, I have been looking for vets in my area. I am going to be jotting down any vet phone number even if they are not in Ohio. I might be over reacting to something small and the vet might be able to help over the phone!

Re: Baby Girl the baby boy!
Okay, guys! I expanded the cage. I'm not even going to attemp with photos now as the pigs are asleep and the flash is very bright!
It is HUGE! Here's a good example of how big it is: the pigs no longer like floortime because their cage is bigger!!! And if I stretch myself out in the middle of the cage I have access space to make a fleece angel! The cage is in an empty normal sized bedroom. The cage takes out 3/4 of the room.
I think it is big enough for 5 pigs. They look so lonely in there, it makes me want to go to the local rescue and adopt more pigs so they don't look so lonely in their cage. If she has all boars I don't know what I'll do! I'm hoping for most girls.
And I found a way to destress them! I read them books EVERY night and they are such good listeners! I have a few bools of "Animal Ark" a veteranairy clinic where they take care of varities of pets (including piggies!) and I read them a book of a pregnant cat who fostered a needy litter and her own. They enjoyed it!

you shouldnt use direct flash anyways on animals.... turn over head light on it should work, and edit in photoshop if you have to. Flash is too bright for their tiny eyes.

I tried to tell my mom that we need a vet in case something goes wronge, but she said that by the time we got their the piggie would already be in too much stress and die. She has no faith.

Re: Baby Girl the baby boy!
Lately they've been very affectionate. Is that a sign of being pregnant? They never used to purr when I would pet them, but now they LOVE being pet!

Re: Baby Girl the baby boy!
And Precious has picked up a licking habit she didn't have before. Goofy has been doing that since we got her, but not precious. Is that a sign?
