Re: I Need Helkp! Guinea-Chilla?
You probably won't need to bathe your piggie that much, though. Only when needed. And they need 20mg of Vit C a day.

Re: I Need Helkp! Guinea-Chilla?
Everyday: 1-2 hours of playtime. lap time, or both. Veggies, Hay, Pellets, Water, spot clean cage, talking to him/her.
Weekly: Complete cage clean, weighing, wellness check (nails, grease gland, anal sac, feet, eyes, and nose).
Monthly: Nail trim
You don't need to bathe your piggy ever unless he/she gets dirty from sitting in urine, poop is crusted on him/her,he/she plays in dirt. If you wanted to just give him/her a "butt" dunk every 4-6 months that would be fine. You can if you want 1-2 times per year for the whole body, anymore than that for a normal short hair american is too much. If you bathe too often, the skin will dry out and then you will have to take care of that. If you have a long hair than you need to groom it regularly and the hair should be fine and not get too dirty.

Re: I Need Helkp! Guinea-Chilla?
Yes, it is I posting this again. You may ask why I feel the need to re-edit this. Some of the responces I got conflicted with my chart. Can anyone varifiy the following: Is it better the more floor time they have? Do you give them veggies every day of twice a week? Are the nail clipped weekly or monthly? Thank all who edited this, I am reposting it in hoping that the chart will be more accurate and more complete. If it is edited further, the chart will be great for first time owners to look at.
Guinea pig schedule: (Is the underlined Correct and in the right spot?
Too be done.....
every day- provide vitamin c, (20mg) attention and floortime (1 to hours of both or one, but more is better) daily cage maintenance (give them Veggies replanish Hay, Pellets, and Water, once a day or as needed, and spot clean cage by picking up the soild waste)
twice a week- provide a different vegetable for the piggies to enjoy
weekly- clean the cage, (i.e. check hidebox and clean the cage replace bedding) clip nails, weighting and recording weight, and giving your guinea pig a wellness exam (check the nails, grease gland, anal sac, feet, eyes, and nose; also look for bumps).
once every 3 or 4 months- bathe your guinea pig's bottom
once or twice a year- give you piggy a full bath (also check for bumps/lumps during bath)

You need to check for bumps/lumps whenever you can. Veggies EVERY SINGLE DAY, 1 cup. I do weekly inspections on eyes, ears, nose, and fur to be safe.

Re: I Need Helkp! Guinea-Chilla?
You do not need to supplement Vitamin C if you are feeding the correct veggies and a good brand of pellet (oxbow or KM's). Also they do not need 20mg. The correct dosage is 10-30mg per kg of body weight. The only reason to supplement Vitamin C is if the pig is sick or pregnant, or you aren't feeding the correct veggies or using crappy pellets.
Veggies need to be everyday...you can try new ones every week to see what they like the best though. I cannot stress the importance of weighing the pig and doing a wellness check every week. I have had pigs that looked fine but were actually losing weight slowly and by the time I caught it...well it was too late and many of them died because of it. Now I make sure the wellness check is at least weekly. Please learn from my mistakes and check your pig weekly!
If you want a good care guide for beginners go to guinealynx and print out a care sheet from there. They are awesome and tell you all the basic things you need to know.

Espetally with older pigs right? I know with dew laps (lookes like a flap of fur on the chin) they are common. But, if you know Precious it tough but it worth the wellfair of your pig.
