Is it normal for Guinea Pigs to try to run away from you?

Whenever we try to pick up our two guinea pigs they try to run from our hands. Is this normal?

Yes, completly. They are pray animals, so they run for cover when they here something or see something coming.

Some get use to with time, and some will run all their lives. Try to talk to them, so they know you are approaching. Good luck!

Chibi doesn't run 75% of the time.
Chimicuino doesn't run 30% of the time.
Penny & Linny will run 100% of the time.

My pigs run, but are calm after I get them.

When I said they always run, I meant usually all of their lifetime.
