Question Please Help.

My guinea pig has had a few episodes of white milky colored tears come from her eyes. I wipe them away and she seems fine but I just want to make sure this isn't anything to be worried about.

She also has this habit of pooping and then eating it. I give her plenty of fresh pellets, hay, and fresh vegetables daily. I was just wondering if this was normal or why she would be doing this.

Thank you,
Rachel & Juicy.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I'm no expert, but it all sounds normal to me. Check out this link http://www.guinealynx.info/eyes.html#discharge about the eyes.

The poop eating is normal. I can't find the link for that, but their bodies make a special kind of poop that is nutritional for them. You'll probably notice that she reaches down and grabs that one out of her bottom. Gross, but totally normal!

Ditto moca138. The white tears are grooming fluid. The poops she eats are cecal poops, full of vitamins and minerals.
