Silly Pigger, I know you were just trying to help, no biggy. As a matter of fact, thanks

Re: Can GPs catch a sickness from us?
Thank you Amy! I think we have to be more careful, until this passes. I've gotten colds before, but this one is worst than the flu. It's been 10 days now and I am still sick...

Re: Can GPs catch a sickness from us?
Guinea Pigs can catch bacterial infections from us, not viral; however, it's always difficult for us to know the difference between the symptoms of bacterial and viral infections. Not to mention, colds in humans occasionally turn into a more serious bacterial infection. For example, when a cold turns into a sinus infection it is now bacterial rather than viral and can be transmitted to your pets, especially the cavies. Bronchitis is also oftentimes accompanied by a viral cold and bronchitis is bacterial.
It's always best to take precautions. Always wash your hands before handling them and their cage accessories and try and limit your contact with them.
I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Re: Can GPs catch a sickness from us?
Thank you Bennalaya. You are right there is no way for me to know if it is viral or not.
Is something going around here. The thing is that last longer than any other flu or cold. Strange thing I did not get any fever.
I called my Dr., but she was too busy...Not laughing!!! grrr...I took to the clasic combo DayQuil/NyQuil...At this point I am just waiting for it to go away.

Re: Can GPs catch a sickness from us?
One time I had exactly what you said, it was like a viral flu or something and it gave you, if any, a slight fever.

Dang, that's too bad. My mom and I both have nasty colds, I think I'll have to go with a mask. I hope she waits to have her babies. Actually, I wish she weren't having them at all!

Comet is in her last week or so. Her due date is about next week end. It seems like she's been pregnant forever!

Re: Can GPs catch a sickness from us?
I had something like yours Cielo. I had a horrible stomach ache for about 4 hours and a slight fever.
Better safe than sorry!
