I was wondering if I can take the piggies out for about an hour. I want to take them to our neighborhood park. It is usually empty and it will be fun for us. Is this a good idea? If is ok, what should I be careful with? Has someone done it?
It will probably be fine. But, then again, you might need to check for the poisonous plants on the nutrition chart, and make sure it hasn't been feritilized in (I think it was) 6 months.
Good luck!
I wouldn't put them in the yard. I'll probably get a towel or fleece and put them in an enclosure or keep them with us in our laps. I am not sure yet...
In a park I would be especially careful. People in parks have dogs, and you never know when one's going to see a small rodent and do some damage, intentionally or not.
Also watch out for small children! Many of them do not have boundaries and will not hesitate to come up and handle your piggies without taking precautions or asking. I love to take my piggies to the park. I keep them in large enclosures to give them room to move and I make sure to bring along the normal amount of fresh veggies that they would eat to keep them from looking for other vegetation. Putting down fleece is a great idea!
