New! When you buy something and it's new, it's usually packaged, and therefore shiny. Even shirts have this sort of brilliance to them when they're brand-spankin' new.

So, shiny = new. I'm pretty new to this forum.

Oh, that's my Furby! He passed away last December, after a long battle with abscesses and pneumonia. He had a compromised immune system--maybe from malnutrition before I adopted him from a local humane society.

Your abby in your avatar is cute, too! What's his/her name?

Aw, I'm sorry.

The boy in my avatar is my baby (not anymore!), Cappuccino. My family and I just call him Cappy for short. I bought him at a local petshop for my 16th birthday, and it was love at first sight.

He was my first boar (I usually started off with a female) and was on his own for two years. We have four now: a tri-color American boar (Ahote), a black and orange-striped sow (Iyagke Oha Ko), and a blonde Abby (Maste).

Maste is the daughter of Iya and Cappy; they had a litter of three, but the other two died due to my own carelessness in cavy caging. One was an orange 'and white American (she looked like her daddy with her mommy's fur!) and the other was a tri-color like her uncle, but with her daddy's hair.

The orange girl was Jiava, and the other Abby was Icahi. Their deaths was what encouraged me to seek out a forum like this, actually.
