Hello and Welcome! C&C cage is the way to go. I also used a store bought cage for a couple of months before making our new 2x7 for our boys Sparky and Teddy. It was much CHEAPER and they have lots of room to run and play now!

Can someone look at the links I posted and tell me what you think of those cages?

None of those cages are anywhere close to being large enough.

Did you read how to figure out the square footage on my link before? What you need to do is look at the "product features" of the cage, and find the dimensions. For example, look at this cage and click on "more details". It gives you the product features page. You can see the dimensions are 31" x 12.5". Multiply them together, and you get 387.5 . Divide that by 144 and you get 2.7 square feet (I rounded it up). 2.7 square feet? That's tiny! Like you spending all your time in your bathroom.

The absolute minimum your cage should be is 7.5 square feet.

Just for one Cavy? All they are doing in there is eating and sleeping and then get tons of play time outside there cage. Another question can you take them outside to eat grass and for excercise?

Because they are in a small cage they will only sleep most of their time. You'll see a HUGE defference when they are in a C&C cage.

VERY true. My girls do laps in their cage now. Its great fun to watch them. The big cage makes a big difference.

Did you click on Guinea Pig Cages, Your Cavy At Home and look around?

There is nothing large or deluxe about those cages!

The first one is 3.5 sq feet, and that is the outer measurements. Plus the tray is pretty shallow so it's going to get bedding kicked all over, esp. when you try to take it apart to clean it. It's an awful design.

The 2nd one is 2.9 sq ft, again the outer measurements.

And the last one is about 2 and a half sq ft. Again the outer measurements.

If you put in a house and toys, they will barely have room to turn around!

Listen to foggy and the rest of us. The C&C cages are the way to go.
