It's going to be to watch the sick pet mills pets arriving each week and watching them get sent back when they can't sell them or going as kids toys or to live outdoors in awful homes.

that's what i was worried about- perpetuating the cycle. that is exactly what i am worried about. my problem is that i have always been that annoying 'what if' person.....
i dont want to perpetuate the cycle, but i do want to help. it felt like it IS contrary to what rescues do, there lay my dilema. that is what i wanted to know though, i thank you for the answers.
i love the animals no one else wants. i want the pigs that would be sent back, and i want to be the one to discourage parents from getting a piggy as a toy, or anyone who would house them outside- esp. here! the heat is unbearable for ppl- without fur! poor piggies dont have a chance! i could deffinately be the person that will tell someone that maybe they should consider a gold fish for little johnny instead! i dont know where the pet stores get the animals, but i want to know. they send animals back? i didnt know that, i just always thought the poor guys where there until they were purchased........ darn- either way, it IS sad. i can already think of one piggy that i am going to get- the poor thing has been there- grown- since i got Pumpkin. *i feel so bad now* but if i get her, i get her from the pet store, but if i dont- who does????????? i
have to get her.
but then i pay $ to the bad store- but if i dont, what happens to
her? this is hard for me, esp since i really dont know much more than i love these animals, and one way or another i want to help them.
i hope i dont sound too goofy or wishy washy, i am not familiar with how the piggie politics work. i wish i would have been more diligent on getting information before i went to purchase from the store- and chosen adoption. the information that i have now has changed so much in me, that i really believe if more ppl knew the things i have learned here, the more rescues would be empty of piggies. it seems that if employed at a store, i, however underhanded- and not condusive to the almighty profit, see an opportunity to
inform ppl (gently- of course!) of piggies in need of homes right around the corner- at rescues- instead of purchasing, maybe they would be swayed into doing the right thing. rescue, not purchase. *sigh* sorry, i can be long winded- i know.
thank you again for the warm welcome, and i hope to talk so much more with you all!
*i have piggie fever*
[can you tell me more about pet mills? i have an idea what they are, but i dont know for sure- i have heard of puppy mills, but that is it- i dont know anything about them, just that i have heard that term. sorry to ask, but the more i know, the more i can figure out how to help- the right way.]
thanks!
