Default Hello !!
I have been lurking around this site for quit a while now and thought I would finally register and say Hello.
I'm in Alabama and have recently fell in love with "piggies". I got him from my sis n law which she got from a man who was wanting to get rid of the guinea pig ( he said his kids were no longer taking care of him nor spending time with him anymore) So, my sister n law went and got him . She "THOUGHT" she wanted it for her kids......Well, thats where I came in. I fell in love with the thing ha ha. He is soooooo very cute. I have a 10 year old son myself and he and I truly adore our new member to the family. I have no idea how old "Patches" is, but he seems to be a full grown piggie do to his private parts being so large.

Anways, just wanted to say HI and that I have truly enjoyed learning how to take care of our little "baby" Patches

I'm glad to hear you are having so much fun with Patches. We are recent piggie owners ourselves (with a herd of 4), and we are enjoying them greatly. We now understand why people refer to themselves as cavy slaves. My goodness, we are constantly seeing to their needs and catering to them. But they are worth it!

Moca: Catering to their needs?? To say the LEAST! Its crazy, I am singing and always talking to him. Patches is constantly wheeking and wanting me to love on him. He gets as much attention as to a human baby would get if thats at all possible. I am using kiln dried pine so I pick his cage out every night, he gets fresh vegetable twice a day and plenty of hay and pellets. He goes to my sons room every night while he is watching TV and has floor time in his portable pen. I can honestly say I am a CAVY SLAVE!

I went away for a few days to a horseshow with my son back in September. I had my aunt come take care of him and my toy poodle. She came twice a day and gave him his vegetables then would call me to tell me how my 2 other babies were doing! C R A Z Y!
