Default Little Snowflake

My little guy, Snowflake, went up to his special place in guinea heaven last week. He was so sick for about 7 days, he didn't eat or drink anything during that week preceeding his death. I did give him water with a siringe just to keep him hydrated. I really didn't think he'd hang on for that long, he was so weak. He did develop severe diaherra, which cleared up with antibiotics, but his appetite never returned.

Does anyone have any ideas ofwhat might have caused this? The obvious reason, stomach obstruction, bad teeth, have been ruled out. He was such a bright light in everyone's life who knew him. He will be missed terribly!

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Pam

I'm so sorry about your loss, I lost my piggie a couple weeks ago it's hard to see them go. But it's even harder to see them suffer. From what you wrote it seems truly amazing how long he hung on for. About what could have happened I know my little guy stopped eating for like a month, sometimes the antibiotics although helping other things can take away their appetite, and somtimes there systems can't take antibiotics for a long period of time because it also kills the good bacteria there bodies make that they need. It could of been a bunch of things I don't know exactly what the unlying reason for my piggies death was either which I know makes it worse to just never know what went wrong. But with my little guy I think it might have been something with his intestines. Again I'm really sorry, I know its hurts a lot to lose these little guys as they are so wonderful and amazing you just have to cherish the time you had with him.

my deepest sympathies,
Katie
