Lonely Lady Seeks Forever Home

My name right now is Nightime although I have had a few names (and a few homes). In fact, I've been listed here on GPH before.

I am a brown Peruvian guinea pig. I have a really bad haircut in that picture so please don't judge me by it. My hair will grow out long and silky so I will need daily brushing or at least an occasional haircut. I hope you are a better stylist then the person who gave me that bad haircut in the picture.

My original owner called me Angie. When he didn't want me anymore he gave me (and my friend) to his mom. His mom gave us to a girl she knew. When that girl grew tired of me and my friend she gave us to her grandma. Her grandma dumped us off at the Kenner Petco. We were put out on a table for someone to take us home for free.

Me and my friend were both terrified. There were so many people and animals and it was very loud. Luckily for us a lady saw us and took us home with her. She contacted the nice ladies at WAIF and they didn't know my name then so they started calling me Estelle.

The nice WAIF lady found us a foster home where we could live until we found our forever home. While we were there the kind family that was taking care of us decided to adopt us and I got the name of Nightime.

Unfortunately my friend that shared this long and scary journey with me suffered a tragic accident and had to be euthanized by the vet but I wasn't alone for long. Soon a very handsome neutered male joined me in my large cage to be my friend and I was very happy but tragedy struck again. My new friend died.

Now I'm alone again and unfortunately hard times have hit the family I live with. They are finding it hard to keep me and want me to have a friend so I won't be lonely. I need a new home, preferably with another female guinea pig or a neutered male .

I am about 4 years old and still have several years left to be your friend and companion. I am not spayed but must NOT be bred. Not only is breeding against WAIF adoption criteria but I'm too old to have babies. Having babies at my age would probably kill me.

I seem to get along with all guinea pigs I meet so I should be an easy addition to your herd or lone guinea pig. No guinea pig should ever be kept alone. We are very social animals and are happiest in pairs or more.

Elly, the small animal expert at WAIF will be happy to help you learn all you need to know about properly caring for guinea pigs. She recommends you read http://guineapigcages.com and http://guinealynx.info to learn more about guinea pigs.

Please consider taking me in and giving me my forever home. I come with a large C&C cage (as shown in the Guinea pig Cages website above, Food, Hay and all accessories).

WAIF director now speaking Nightime is being adopted out through WAIF. Please contact us for an adoption application

Is there anyway you could adopt her out to me? A pig train?

Sorry, but I don't do long distance adoptions unless it goes through a reputable rescue in your area.
