Kind of related, and a question I think other people will be interested in hearing the answer to:

If a member of the forum sends a PM about taboo topics, like asking where to buy babies, or their plans to breed, or that kind of thing, do the admins want to know about it? I mostly just find it annoying and try to ignore it, and it seems a little ridiculous to tattle on people, but sometimes I wonder if they're trolling and if it would benefit us as a community to expose them. Good question. Someone recently PM'ed me talking about buying 5 pigs and keeping them in the trunk of the car with a blanket on top so they dont get "cold". This person also said that when thier male gets "lonely" she'll let the female have a sleep over. Basically everything this person told me completely contradicts what this site is all about. I told them what proper care they need to take and to adopt instead but they just blew it off. Also they said they are going to buy cages and I dont think they mean C&C. I dont know how to handle this situation. I know if this person does get piggies, they are going to be in a bad home enviroment but I didnt think I should snitch on them either since it was a private message. Since I offered all the advice I could and they didnt take it, I told them they would be better off getting a pet rock instead of an animal.

You also have to consider: Is this a teenager who think's it funny, but made it all up?

I hate it when teens to that. It makes the rest of the teens look bad. I live with my mom and my pigs are in a huge cage with the best care. Grrrr.

It definitely think that person was trying to upset us, and who knows how many people she messaged. That's exactly what I meant when I suggested that it might be trolling. My question being, for the benefit of all, is there a unified way that we can agree to handle such situations? Should PM instigators be quietly reported, or should we just not engage?

I think the best thing to do is ignore the pm, and report it to the mods.

Please forward inappropriate PMs and Emails to the mods. We have strict rules about abusing the PM/email system. If inappropriate PMs aren't reported then we cannot help the situation.

I love this site. One time I got two warnings in one day by lypigs. One was for chat talking. I don't really uderstand. All I said was (yall) from what I understand. I was really upset but it expired. I thought I was banned for something stupid. Thankfully I wasn't. But yes. I would be very upset because I love this site so much. I understand people who want to come back. Now, one rule break would be the only exeption for that. Multiple times would not. I think the mods make good desisions on who gets banned.

I have been talking to this person who wants the five guinea pigs (she did not tell me but referred me to this post that people were talking about her). She is a kid. She just doesn't know better.

Oh, and she tends to delete the PM before so it doesn't create a chain of PMs so I don't think anyone will be able to report her anyway.
