I would say maybe 1 in 20 Mainers have air conditioners. (haha) Would you agree with this T54bruschi? I was home in the midcoast the 3rd week of June, and it was over cast everyday! Enjoy your warm weather while it lasts!

I have heard of people taking cold packs that you would put in lunch sacks, and actually putting 2 or 3 towels over the cold packs, and leaving them in the cage with guinea pigs, so that it may provide some relief from the heat. Anyone ever done this, or heard of this? I would think you would just have to make sure that the guinea pig doesnt actually lay on top of this, but rather, sits next to it to feel the coolness next to them?

I put cold packs under their fleece, which is tucked around the coroplast, so they can't get to them. They sit on the cold pack lumps and look like the Queen of Sheeba.

Yep. Sexy leg extended and giving you that half-eye-closed look that says it all.

LOL! I also use those cold packs tucked under the fleece, Goofy loves them, but Precious is't so thrilled about them.

Yeah, we have an AC, but the piggy cage is in the way of the window and my dog cage is in the way of the other. I put some frozen water bottles in the cage and Danny licked the frost for a bit. I have kept an eye on them all and they are not chewing the bottle. I just gave them all a bath (only the first one) as I know you should only bathe them when needed and they needed it. When they are playing on the floor, they cock their leg and pee on each other! Crazy cavies. It is very hot here AGAIN today, so they are all set and won't get sick. Thanks again to everyone for all the help and I was reading (I forget who) and I hope she realizes that no is picking on her, but just trying to help.

We have had some hot wheather here. In the 90's for about 4 days now, its killin' me!

So right now I have 6 frozen baggies in the freezer. And when they melt the piggies still lay on them like water beds.
