OK, so Cutemomome inspired me to make a plan for a new cage. I was thinking about taking the top opening hatch off of the top of the cage, and then taking the bottom base off of the smaller cage and attaching it onto the top of the other cage, and then make a ramp with covers on each side and friction (so the piggies don't slip or fall) to go up and out of the bottom cage and into the top smaller cage with a hole coming through the floor for the top cage. But I'm concerned about the whole. It's for getting in and out of the top cage, but I don't want anyone to fall through the hole. Any Solutions?
C & C cages are the best!! They are so easy to make and very affordable! You can also use materials other than Coroplast if you cannot find it in your area! I used a couple of big card board display boards and covered them with shelf liner (unscented wipeable type). It works fine and is very affordable and suprisingly sturdy... I just followed the instructions for the C & C cages and It was very easy. My piggies are VERY happy and healthy and I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER use a pet store cage again!
This time of year is good for sales on the grids for a c&c cage. With the back to school sales they are sold to college students for shelves in their dorms. Keep in eye on the store ads. I got mine at Kohl's for a very good price.
Oh please, don't say the s word! I like the fact that I can pet my piggies and care for them without stressing over tests and such! lol I like having extra time with my piggies.
