Anyone seen the new commerical with the guinea pig?

Has anyone else seen that new alltell or some phone company commerical where they have a poor guinea pig in a small cage and it attacks that guy from the other phone company, I couldn't believe that when I saw it, they are giving Guinea pigs a bad name...Just thought I would say something since I just saw it on tv.

i've seen it and i think it's more directed toward the phone company not altel but the other one. i think it's funny and didnt see it as giving piggies a bad name but it kind of does make people think.. do they really do that? which i've NEVER seen anything like that. a squirel maybe?

i thought that is was funny. in my eyes the guinea pig was getting back at them for putting her in that small cage. hehe and haveing to be around nerds.

I know it's not bad or anything I just don't like the idea of them having a guinea pig in a little cage and then having it attack the person who put it there, I think the blockbuster commericals they had with the guinea were funny

I did like the blockbuster ones as well. I didn't really care for the Alltel Wireless one but I didn't think the guinea pig kicking the guys butt was pretty funny...I mean seriously if you would actually do that to some poor animal..you deserve to have them attack you!

Have not seen this ad and probably won't as I am in Australia. From reading all the threads you piggie lovers in USA seem to be miles ahead of us re the welfare of GP's. I am looked at very strangely when I say I rescue GP's but there are a few of us getting off the ground now. I have been doing it for 10yrs and at the moment have 51. Tremendous problem trying to find homes for them as people only want them for breeding and selling to petshops and want a "free guineapig".
Keep up the good work. Appreciate all the words of wisdom and stories.

My husband thinks the commercial is hillarious and had to show me as soon possible. I thought it was funny. But I also felt that the guinea pig was was miffed that it was in such a small cage (just like the other cell phone companies customers) and when it had a chance to be free it payed back the company. I don't think this will affect the way people look at guinea pigs. But it does remind me of when I bought my frist guinea pig (back before I knew any better) and the way the pet store had us buy all this stuff for the guinea pig that truned out to be bad for the piggie. I think I made all the mistakes with my frist one. We bought a cage it wasn't small but it wasn't huge either, we bought a wheel and a ball (we no longer have these items. As soon as I found out about them I threw them out of the house). The people at Petsmart are not trained very well in what guinea pigs really need. It really makes me mad to think about all the bad stuff they are selling to people. That people think they are getting good products for their pigs but they are not. Anyways enough of this rant... I am just glad that people like you all have helped me provided a better lifestyle for my piggies.
