Wink A success story (so far...)

I just adopted a (seemingly) healthy pig from a pet store. I hope he doesn't get sick! Let's all keep our fingers crossed!

Sorry but that is not a "success story".

I success story is when an animal is adopted out through a rescue or a private party, preferably an animal that was showcased on this website.

I also need to inform you that you did not "adopt" this animal. You purchased it and by doing so you have enabled and rewarded the petstore and breeders.

To learn more about the difference between buying and adopting please read What is Rescuing and Adopting?

way to be a kill-joy, voodoojoint. I tried to find a GP through the site, but none of the things I tried really seemed to work. THe nearest rescue was too far away, and none of the pigs could be adopted one at a time because all of them had bonded. I know the difference between buying and adopting, but thanks anyways for the link. I consider a success story to be any story about a happy, healthy guinea pig.

It is a kill-joy to see breeders neglect their animals and breed them to death and for the petshops to sell sick, injured and neglected animals to anyone with the money to plunk down on the counter without caring the least-little-bit what kind of life or death they have.

I'm not the kill-joy--the animal sales industry is.

You think you adopted or rescued from a "horrible petstore"? Who's going to rescue the babies that replace the one you bought? You? I doubt it. Even if you did will you "rescue" the next? and the next? How about the mother being forced to churn out babies like a machine at some breeder's? Did you give one thought for her?

Success is NOT enabling more suffering. It is doing all you can to END it.
