I was reminded about this thread recently and thought I would give you guys an update. I have reintroduced the girls and it was pretty good. A few nips here and there but everything has settled down. Nugget has hit a growth spurt, ending her adolescent months *happy dance*, I've been waiting for her to cool down and she actually growing. We've also found out that Honey and Star are actually deaf, it only affects their skittishness thankfully. They've settled in and are not afraid of me anymore, i've also found out that they are LOUD wheekers. Honey's wheek is the highest pitch and Star's is the loudest of them all. Goofball has bonded with them and surpriseingly Precious was actually sleeping next to Honey without kicking her out, so that's goin well.

Here are some pictures of their new cage, which is a 3x7 that gobbles a fourth of my room but I don't care. ^.^

I've also learned how to make cuddle sacks and the pigs will have a piggie futon by the end of the weekend. And they now have an adorabely pink cuddle cup.

Hi guineapiggoddess, haven't been here in ages. I was wondering how your herd was doing. Glad to hear your girls are settling in!

I have introduced my "new" two boys to the "old" three boys, but I am sorry to say they are separate again. Even with my big 8x2, they just didn't settle down. I gave them a buddy bath and that helped somewhat but somehow they still could tell who was who. When I noticed that the strongest guy chased the two new guys away from both (!) water bottles, rising up and biting, I separated them again. I cannot watch them all day and make sure everybody gets enough water... Now they are in a 2x5 (3 boys) and a 2x3 (2 boys) with plexi glass between. With grids, they were nipping through the grids, but they don't seem to notice each other through the plexi glass. Ah well. The new guys were popcorning after I separated them so I think I did the right thing.

Yes you did the right thing, if he was rising up then he really meant trouble. My girls have not gone that far. I think the worst they have done was... chasing.

Star still thinks that Honey is her boss so Precious has to keep her in check. Everyone else is doing fine, Honey is the most cuddley pig of them all! She's already been able to melt all the hearts of my pigs and has managed to even sleep next to all of them once. She had some problems with Nugget, who is around her age but now they are best buds.

I am so glad you rescued those poor little piggies!!!
I run a small animal rescue now, and I work with my local Humane Society and with Rescuedguineapigs.com.

So we have the Kentucky and Indiana areas kind of covered. In fact, I rescued 3 dumbo rats today, and took 1 guinea pig to the rescue. She loaded me up with a bunch of towels and supplies. This woman is FANTASTIC!!!

I have taken her about 6 guinea pigs. One of them had a broken front tooth that had to be removed, and his back teeth filed. His vet bill was $45.00. And when she adopted him out, she still charged only $15.00 for the adoption fee. She is a wonderful person and I am so glad that I met her!!!

I have 6 piggies, 3 ferrets, 1 gerbil, and about 18 dwarf hamsters (that are up for adoption). I also have cats and dogs. Since I am disabled and cannot work with my daughters horses, I have found guinea pigs and fallen in love!!! Then I saw how bad things are for many pets, so I decided to start the rescue.

All in all, I have helped re-home 6 guinea pigs. And with my rescue, I have re-homed 4 gerbils and 3 ferrets, and assisted in an adoption for my friend in Indiana. So I feel really good about all of that.

To anyone that rescues these poor helpless babies, God bless you all!! They didn't ask to be here and get mistreated. I just can't understand how people can treat animals like that. God bless you all!!!
