Nutmeg and Pepper A pair of dedicated and co-dependant 4 ½ month old male guinea pigs need a good home. Meet Pepper a playful, inquisitive and talkative long haired gray silky and Nutmeg a shy and retiring long haired tri-colored Abyssinian. These loving guinea pigs need a quiet home filled with light, classical music and loving gentle people.
Dr. Kurt Nakamura, a veterinarian who specializes in guinea pigs, treated them when we rescued them in February for mites and mal-nutrition. He saw them again on April 9th and said they are now in excellent health and ready to be adopted.
Guinea pigs require a lot of care and attention but give a lot of love in return. The minimum cage/pen space for 2 guinea pigs is 2½ feet by 5 feet. Pepper and Nutmeg come with their own cage. They need fresh water and hay, 2 meals of greens morning and evening plus a bedtime snack of carrots and carrot greens. The approximate cost for food and bedding is $20-25 per week. They, also, need a veterinarian check up at least once a year. These will need lots of grooming to maintain their beautiful long fur. For more information on the care and feeding of guinea pigs visit these websites:
We will work with you to ensure the continued well-being of these 2 special characters and include up to 4 weeks of vacation care at our home per year.
