20 Piggies Seized in Arizona Arizona's Piggie Poo Rescue, Inc. seized 20 piggies from a home at 67th Ave and Van Buren on Sunday, May 19th due to neglect and cruelty following a tip from a conscientious neighbor.
All 20 piggies were kept in a rabbit hutch (32” x 28” x 40”), outdoors all year. The cage had not been cleaned in what appeared to be months. All pigs were covered in feces; most were severely bitten (pictures to come) with hair loss, scabs, bleeding, malnutrition with general malaise.
Of the 20 piggies, there are 5 two week old pups, 8 boars, and 7 sows. The piggies range in approximate ages from two weeks, 4 months, 8 months, and over a year old.
Two pups will not survive, one pregnant sow is carrying still born pups, and one sow may not survive.
The rescue was a capacity prior to the intake.
