Youngsters for Adoption **UPDATED**
My wife and I bought 5 of these little guys in the beginning. We didn't know how to sex them and we had bought them from different stores who all told us they were females. Well, long story short, they reproduced. A LOT! Now I know how to tell the males and females apart and I have them seperated, but it turns out that 1 male guinea pig fathered about 15 more, that is, 2 females had 5 babies, one had 3, and the other had 2, for a grand total of 20 guinea pigs now. They are all well taken care of, but I simply can't afford to feed these guys much longer. My wife and I are moving to a new duty station in May and I need to find homes for about 13 of these guys. I'm located in Northwest Indiana, and I can e-mail pictures upon request. If you are interested please e-mail me and I will give a brief description of which ones I have available for adoption, and I will e-mail pictures of any or all of them that you are interested in.

*****UPDATED*****

(This was formerly titled "Several Youngsters Available for Adoption", here's an update:

First, I apologize to everyone who e-mailed me or otherwise attempted to contact me with no response; my wife and I are a military family and we have been very busy with our lives for the past few months.

I still have a plethora of piggies up for adoption. Most of these piggies, at this point, are less than 6 months old. A few of them are no older than 7 months. I also have 1 male newborn (born May 8th) and another piggie who is due to give birth in the next week or two. Of course, these won't be available for adoption until they are old enough to take care of themselves, but will be available as soon as that time arrives. All of these babies we have gotten were because of sexing errors. We did not intend to breed, it just happened accidentally.

I have taken the time to snap pictures of all of the piggies that are available for adoption and made a MySpace profile listing the different piggies with pics and brief description (male, female) of each one.

Here are my adoption rules:

1. NO Reptile owners. In other words, I will not give these piggies away if you're planning on turning them into snake food.

2. NO Labs/Science experimentation. You want to test on animals, do it somewhere else. Not on these piggies!

3. I would prefer an experienced/knowledgable cavy owner. I want to know these piggies will be properly taken care of and loved and cared for the right way. First time owners are welcome, but I will want to talk to you to ensure that you understand what is required of you to properly care for a guinea pig.

4. They're free. I'm not charging for these piggies. However, my wife and I are (as I said) a military family. I am prior U.S. Army and my wife is currently enlisted in the U.S. Army. We don't make much money, and I have been feeding and caring for 24 guinea pigs since November/December. They go through about 25 pounds of food per week, 3 bags of 24oz Timothy Hay per week, and roughly 10 cubic feet of bedding per week. Add in vitamin c supplements, chew toys, etc. etc... Well, you see where I'm going with this. Donations would be most welcome! Not neccessary, but welcome. I love these piggies to death and as much as I want to I would love to keep them all, but we simply can't afford this much longer. Which is why I want to be sure that they are going to GOOD homes where they can live out their lives in happiness with the great care and love that I have provided them thus far.

Anyone who is interested in adopting could please either contact me via e-mail or on the myspace profile via comments or sent messages. Adopters will need to pick up the adoptee in person at my residence. However, if you live close by or if you would prefer to meet up at a reasonable location, that would be fine. Please take the time to peruse the myspace profile located here - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...id =473711774 where you can see multiple pictures of the piggies available for adoption. As stated earlier, please contact me within myspace or e-mail, for any questions, comments, or concerns. Thank you for your consideration in adopting one of these wonderful little pets. I hope to find good, caring homes and that you and your new piggy will have many years of happiness.

Thank you,

- Brian
